Safe Entry Procedures for Students

We want students to be safe and supervised. The established procedures ensure that all students are accounted for and are in a safe place at those times when they are not with a teacher, volunteer, or staff member.

  • Preschool to Grade 1 students will be met by an adult outside of the doors just before bell time and then escorted safely inside

  • PreSchool to Grade 1 students are dismissed with a person-to-person handoff. This means that the person picking up your child must be known to us (as set up by you on the first day)

  • All other students enter when dropped off. The bell goes at 8:30

  • The front door is always used to get into the school

  • Students will never remain in classrooms during recess or lunch without regular supervision

  • During breaks, no students should be in the halls without permission of the teachers on supervision duty

  • For Primary, Junior or Middle school students:, if a student is hurt or upset during outdoor playtime, they should see the teachers on duty to help them deal with the issue instead of coming inside on their own. There are always teachers on supervision and they will decide if a student needs to come to the office and we always want to support and tend to their needs without them feeling they need to seek help alone
